August 18, 2024 at Bi-Centenary Hall, Kirem at 9:00 AM onwards

The program commenced at 9:00 AM with Royston Dsouza as the Master of Ceremonies. The event was graced by several dignitaries, including:

- Rev. Fr. Oswald Monteiro - ICYM Kirem Director and Parish Priest
- Rev. Fr. Alban D'Silva - Assistant Priest
- Mr. Rohan Dcosta - Vice President Kirem Parish council
- Mr. James Lobo - Secretary of Kirem parish Council
- Mr. Wilfred Monis - All Committee Coordinator and Health Committee Coordinator
- Mrs. Vinitha Dsouza - ICYM Animator
- Dr. Swathi - Representative from Fr. Muller's Hospital
- Parents of Late Makwyn Vas and Late Ashritha Saldanha
- Mrs. Eugene Saldanha - Catholic Sabha President
- Richard Saldanha - Youth Commission Representative
- Mr. Austin - ICYM St. Jude Mangalore North Deanery Vice President
- Mr. Mrunal Prinson Saldhana - RedDrop Representative
- Hanson Rodrigues - ICYM Kirem President

The event began with a prayer song by ICYM members, setting a solemn and reflective tone.

Hanson Rodrigues, the President of ICYM Kirem, formally welcomed everyone to the event.

The ceremonial lighting of the deepa symbolized the official commencement of the program, with each flame representing the spirit of giving and remembrance.

Rev. Fr. Oswald Monteiro delivered an inspiring speech, quoting Mahatma Gandhi: "The best way to find ourselves is to lose ourselves in the service of others." He emphasized the ripple effect of positive actions within the community and thanked everyone for their participation in the event, honoring the memories of Makwyn Vas and Ashritha Saldanha.

Following this, the parents of the late Makwin Vas and Late Ashritha Saldanha paid tribute to their children by offering flowers to their photographs.

Dr. Swathi, representing Fr. Muller's Hospital provided crucial information about the importance of blood donation and its potential to save lives.

A short biography of Makwyn Vas and Ashritha Saldanha was shared by Ms. Lenica, highlighting their contributions to the community and the legacy they left behind.

In recognition of their loss, their parents were honored with a shawl and memento, a gesture of respect and solidarity from the community.

The formal program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrunal Saldanha, followed by a group photo to commemorate the event.

The blood and hair donation drive was conducted immediately after the formal program and continued until 1:00 PM.

A total of 31 individuals donated their hair, while 55 individuals donated blood.

The event was a resounding success, thanks to the combined efforts of the Volunteers, Kirem youths and parishioners.
